Arizona wine trails
- Arizona has three main grape-growing areas named by the Arizona Wine Growers Association: Sonoita/Elgin, Verde Valley and Willcox.
- Sonoita, about an hour south of Tucson at 4,500-5,200 feet, was Arizona's first designated AVA.
- The Verde Valley AVA, about two hours north of Phoenix at 3,000-5,500 feet, covers Sedona, Jerome, Camp Verde, Cottonwood and Clarkdale.
- The Willcox area in southeast Arizona grows most of the state's wine fruit, on larger vineyards between 4,000 and 5,500 feet.
