Maine wine trails

• The Maine Winery Guild runs the Maine Wine Trail, a self-guided route to member tasting rooms, with a printable map and Maine Open Winery Day each summer.
• Maine wineries make grape and fruit wines, meads, ciders, fortified wines and spirits.
• Maine Tourism says many grapes grown in the state are cold-hardy hybrids, some able to survive 40 below zero.
• Maine Tourism counts over 20 wineries in the state.
