Ohio wine trails
- Ohio is a cool-climate growing region; the state's Ohio Grape Industries Committee says this gives wines full fruit flavor with slightly higher acidity.
- Northeast Ohio, along Lake Erie and the Grand River valley, holds well over half of the state's wine-grape acreage, per the Ohio Wine Producers Association.
- Grapes grown in the northeast include Pinot Gris, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc, plus Chambourcin, Vidal Blanc and native varieties.
- The Ohio Wine Producers Association and the state's Find Ohio Wines site both split the state into seven trail regions.
